South Ribble
Borough Council’s Landscape Architect, Christopher Harrison,
approached us with designs for a large bespoke cycle barrier and several
smaller, removable bollards. These custom items were designed by the council to
promote the Green Links Project. The
Green Links project helps provide people with a way of enjoying
the outdoors, getting active, and improving their health and well-being.
The bollards were
fabricated by our talented team of metalworkers and woodworkers. The bollards
feature a laser cut Green Links logo which, as you can see from the pictures,
provides a beautifully unique bollard as well as casting a stunning shadow. The
bollards also feature a hardwood square plate which compliments the stainless
steel perfectly. To provide easy accessibility for any vehicles that may need
to gain entry, the bollards are fully removable and sit in a secure ground
socket.
The large cycle
barrier is fabricated from large hardwood timber beams and features a
stainless-steel plate with a laser cut Green Links logo design to the front and
a Green Links logo to the back. The cycle barrier is a chunky and robust
feature that is completely in-keeping with the site's industrial/rail heritage.
The council were
delighted with the finished products, and so were we. Seeing the initial
designs jump off the page and into the real world is always extremely
satisfying.
