Door protection barriers, also known as door guards, are installed on internal or external doors and designed to prevent the door from swinging too far open and potentially damaging the door and its hinges, or the wall behind the doorway. External door guard barriers are an essential security fixture on schools and office buildings where there is a high volume of people opening and closing doors, as they will stop the door from being slammed into the wall behind and damaging the building. The door guards also act as a protective security barrier for children or workers when leaving the building, and will stop any vehicles from striking an unaware child or worker exiting the door. Our door barriers are suitable for both single and double doors.
A rubber bump stop can be attached to the door guard barriers to cushion any impact if the door is swung open. The door guards can also be used to hold a door open using a latch that can be fixed to the door guards. Rubber bump stops and latches are ideal for schools and educational centres as children can be notoriously heavy handed when swinging doors open.
We supply door guards in both mild steel and stainless steel with a selection of infill panels such as toughened glass and perforated steel sheets. Tapping bars, or cane rails, can also be used on our DDA compliant door guards to aid accessibility to partially sighted people. All external door guards are galvanised as standard to prevent rust. We can also supply internal door guards suitable for hospitals and shopping centres.
Door hoops can be fabricated in any shape, size or colour to match in to the surrounding environment. The door guards can be used to house entrance or exit buttons for automated entry systems which are a popular fixture on automatic sliding doors. The mild steel door guards can be powder coated in any standard RAL colour.
